Test News 2

On 20 June this year, we launched a capacity building mentoring programme in Bulgaria that aims to provide participants with basic knowledge and skills in sustainable development 🌍.
It is extremely practical 🛠️. The participants’ “textbook” 📖 is their own experience, which they share, while mentors guide them in how to develop and propose climate change adaptation policies. In this particular case – an energy efficiency strategy ⚡ for the Burgas region and a framework for sustainable urban mobility 🚲🚍 for the municipality of Byala, Varna region.

💡 The activity is implemented under the STEP2CLEANPLAN project and will run for three months 🗓️. The programme covers key topics such as:

♻️ environmental protection

🚦 sustainable urban mobility

🇪🇺 European and national climate policies

📚 The programme is structured in three modules:
Module 1 – Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation
Module 2 – Sustainable Urban Mobility and Energy Efficiency
Module 3 – Analysis and Discussion on Opportunities from European and National Policies

👥 The programme involves professionals from various fields connected to the work of local authorities and the civil sector. Among the participants are representatives of:

– Byala Municipality (Varna Region)
– Tsarevo Municipality
– Sredets Municipality
– Public Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development – Varna
– Gaia Foundation – Varna
– Recycling Art Foundation – Varna
– Regional Forestry Directorate – Burgas
– Burgas State University “Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov”
– Regional Directorate “Agriculture” – Burgas

💬 The topics from the first module have already sparked active discussions, experience sharing, and strong interest in future collaboration 🤝.
Participants expressed a desire for closer communication and joint work on current challenges facing Black Sea municipalities.

Stay tuned for more updates on the topic!
